How it Works
-
Design Your Vision:
- Create your own shapes, purchase designs online, or hire a designer.
- You're limited only by your imagination!
-
Format Your Files:
- Use a vector program (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Cuttle, Inkscape).
- Separate processes by color.
- Ensure your design is laser-ready.
-
Get a Quote and Make it Happen:
- Email your design details to info@houstonacrylic.com, including size, quantity, and material.
- Receive a quote based on material cost and laser time. Quotes can take up to 24 hours.
- Production turnaround time is typically 3-5 business days after an invoice is paid.
A laser-ready file is crucial for a smooth process:
- Preferably Adobe or SVG format.
- Black lines for cutting, red lines for engraving, blue lines for scoring.
- Ensure the design fits within a 28"x40" area. (We recommend browsing our website for the product you want to utilize and using in stock sheet sizes if possible)
Material and Laser Time Costs:
- Consider material thickness and complexity when obtaining a quote.
- Detailed shapes and engraving increase laser time.
- We recommend optimizing your design for efficiency.
Design Services:
- Send us your laser-ready file or let our team create one for you.
- A "Design Fee" applies if no file or a non-laser-ready file is provided.
Material Cut-Down Services:
- We offer cutting down 12"x19", 18"x24" and 24"x35" sheets for different machine beds or project needs.
- $1.00 per sheet, maximum $10.00 charge.
- Simply add our "Custom Cut Fee" mentioned in the product item description
- Custom cuttings done on Friday/Saturday.
How to Tell if Your File is Vector:
- Vector files use mathematical formulas, not pixels.
- Zoom in; if it stays smooth, it's vector.
- Programs like Adobe Illustrator, Cuttle, Corel Draw, and Inscape are suitable.
- Non-vector formats include JPG, PNG, PSD, BMP.
