This double-sided acrylic mirror has a mirror effect on both sides! Any engravings will show up on both sides!
Due to the manufacturing process to achieve this look it does need to be handled differently than other acrylics. Do not use any harsh chemical cleaners on this acrylic and always clean gently with a screen cleaner cloth. The back sided mirror is susceptible to scratching and rubbing off when exposed to harsh cleaners or rough cloths. Since the finish is applied on top of the core to achieve a double-sided look, it is not guaranteed to be compatible with different adhesives. Glues, weld-ons, and adhesive papers can distort or remove the finish.
Do you need this acrylic size to be smaller? Check out our custom cutting fee here.
Posted settings are recommendations only. For best results it is recommended you attempt a small test area before moving forward with a larger design. Results may vary on each machine due to a variety of factors such as machine type, age, and maintenance.
Always engrave on the back side. The back side is indicated with a blue film. If there is not a blue film then the back side is the side that does not appear to be under a clear coat (see picture).
Masking: Protective Plastic Film
Recommended Glowforge Setting - We recommend removing the clear plastic on your mirror acrylic and paper masking both sides of the acrylic. Masking both sides of the acrylic will prevent the finished mirror backing from getting damaged and prevent the plastic covering from melting on your tray. When cutting or engraving we like to put the silver side up and mirror our design. You can start by using the proofgrade setting for Medium Black Acrylic.
